These pages were set up to demonstrate how easily the HTG website can be set up, hosted, and maintained under the auspices of the NZSS website, yet maintain its own identity.
HTG provides cavers and backpackers with accommodation at our well-appointed lodge.
The Lodge is signposted off Te Anga Road, 1 Km west of Waitomo Village.
- Two dormitories and a number of bunkrooms can sleep at least 30 people.
- Kitchen with ovens, microwave, fridges, toasters, and all cooking utensils.
- Lounge with easy chairs, stereo and fireplace.
- Large deck with BBQ and vistas over the Waitomo countryside.
- Multiple Showers, toilets and laundry.
- Ample room for tents.
- Caver specific stuff such as practice SRT rope in lounge, survey collection, and gear drying room.
- Guests are frequently invited to join members in educational walks and caving trips.
- Close to local amenities.
