Through research, advocacy, education, and liaison with land managers.

WHAT WE'RE ABOUT

The New Zealand Speleological Society Incorporated (NZSS) is the national body for recreational caving in New Zealand. We promote the sport of caving, the exploration of caves, and the conservation of caves and karst landscapes.  NZSS also operates the NZ Cave Search and Rescue system on behalf of LandSAR and SAR NZ.
The membership is mainly made up of members of affiliated local clubs.
